Workshop on Improving Skills in Practical Procedures on Rodents


Aim and content

The aim of the workshop is to give the participants the possibility to improve their skills and competencies in practical procedures on rodents, including handling and restraint, blood sampling, injections and euthanasia, in order to minimize any potential pain, distress or suffering in the animals.  

The content if the workshop is flexible and adapted to the participants particular wishes and needs.  

Participants

All technical and academic staff using rats or mice in their daily work. 

The participants shall have passed a course in laboratory animal science for at least Functions A and D according to Directive 2010/63/EU, Article 23.2 (formerly FELASA C or B courses).

Language

English or Danish.

Form

Demonstrations and hands-on practical exercises with rats and mice.

Price

For staff employed at the University of Copenhagen, the fee is 2.300 DKK per workshop.
For external participants, the fee is 3.500 DKK per workshop.

For larger groups, special prices can be agreed upon.
