Price increases from January 2026

PRICES AND SERVICES

A simplified service catalogue and a new pricing structure will take effect in January 2026

Mouse

From January 2026, the Animal Core Facility (ACF) at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences will apply a new pricing structure covering the housing and breeding of research animals, technical services performed by ACF staff and certain specialised services not included in the standard catalogue.

The aim is to ensure a clear and transparent pricing structure that reflects relevant costs, while standardising prices across ACFs locations. The basic prices are calculated based on a model developed in collaboration with Deloitte.

General price increases for internal users 2026

For internal users of the facility the general price increases will be:

  • 10% increase - housing and breeding of rodents
  • 15% increase - housing of pigs at Panum
  • 25% increase - housing of pigs at Frederiksberg
  • 10% increase - housing of zebrafish at Panum
  • 25% increase - housing of zebrafish at the August Krogh Building
  • 20% increase – housing of poultry
  • 10% increase of technical services

Please note that, due to the harmonisation process across campuses, price changes may differ slightly in some cases. The indicated price increases do not include the annual price regulation (P/L). For external users, prices will generally only be adjusted in line with the annual price regulation.

Simplified service catalogue

From January 2026, a simplified ACF service catalogue will also apply. The number of housing and breeding categories will be reduced from 62 to 36, and the number of technical service categories from 76 to 48.

Breeding-related procedures will be integrated into housing packages and carried out by ACF staff, ensuring fewer people in the stables, reduced disturbances, and more efficient workflows.

Technical services will be grouped by type, and all communication regarding breeding procedures will be managed via the Animal Management System, PyRAT. The system is currently being implemented and expected to be fully operational before summer 2026.

Together, the simplified service catalogue and the new pricing structure will provide a better overview, harmonised pricing, and more streamlined service delivery.

See the spreadsheet for the new service categories, including 2026 prices.
