Ordering of animals
The Department needs control of all arriving animals - when, where, to whom, and for what purpose. Therefore, AEM will order the animals from the vendor for you. On this page you will find an overview of animal types and how to order them from AEM.
There is an obligatory 7-day acclimatization period before animals can be used for experiments. In addition, there are different procedures, depending on which type of animals you wish to order. We encourage researchers to use the acclimatization period to train their animals to handling and non-invasive experimental procedures.
In all cases you will need an approved project plan before you can order animals.
Animal types and how to order
